Plastic surgery in China.
October 15, 2006 on 2:31 pm | In News, Education | 2 CommentsI heard a report on the radio today that along with the busy holiday season, it is also a busy time for Chinese plastic surgeons. Apparently with the rise of middle class in China, there is also a huge rise in the demand for plastic surgery.
According to a busy Chinese surgeon in ShangHai, people come to her, more and more, to change the shape of their eyes, get rid of wrinkles and other popular procedures. Plastic surgery seems so popular that there is even an artificial beauty pageant that’s held in one of the major cities in China.
I found that report interesting. I also find very interesting how identical people are all around the world. Here we have a 2000+ year old culture that given a chance is susceptible to the very same patterns of behavior western culture is often stereotyped for. Race doesn’t matter, economical structure doesn’t matter - at the core we are all the same and want the same basic things in life, good or bad.

Another Columbine? Dawson College events today
September 13, 2006 on 7:15 pm | In News | No CommentsIf you haven’t heard it on the news, there has been shooting in Montreal, Canada. A disturbed individual opened fire on unsuspecting student body.
I have a special connection to Dawson College - I used to live in Montreal and went to Dawson for four years.
What can I say - as these things keep happening around the world, it is just another reminder that we as society need to change. That’s why I firmly believe that self improvement is critically important. As the matter a fact I believe that improving our selves is the only viable solution to the problems that we face in the society today. The more we work on our selves, the more individuals there would be constantly striving to be better, the more world around us will improve. Only by improving our selves we can affect a deep change in the world around us.
I want to express my deepest sympathies to the victims and wish them a speedy recovery!

Do you Squidoo?
September 5, 2006 on 7:18 pm | In News | No CommentsWe would like to announce our newest online adventure. We are into Squidoo. Do you Squidoo?
What is Squidoo? It is a place where YOU generate content on any topic that you want. You use lenses to make your content know to the world. This is how they define a lens:
“A lens is one person’s view on a topic that matters to her. It’s an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and thousands of products from hundreds of other trusted merchants. You can pick whatever content you want to put in your lens to bring context to your topic. Then, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction. It’s a place to start, not finish.”
It is a fad, a fashion and a new way to look at internet. Check out our lenses here:
